  • Lesson Duration:
    • 2 hours.
  • Per Lesson Cost:
    • For one-on-one Tuition:
      • R525.00 for 1 learner (dedicated tuition).
    • For 2 or more learners:
      • R800.00 (per lesson not per learner).
      • PLUS R25.00 per learner per lesson for full colour printed notes.
  • Payment:
    • Per lesson by direct deposit, cash or cheque, or
    • In advance for full course.
  • Bookings:
    • Please request a list of available lesson timeslots to choose from.
  • Venue:
    • For 1 learner dedicated tuition, SHEER design TRAINING has a state of the art facility where the learner will experience and learn in a small working studio.
    • For more than 1 learner, on-site training is offered at your venue. The SHEER design TRAINING facilitator is fully mobile for on-site training.
  • Customisation:
    • For special requirements, speak to me and I will do my best to accommodate your course requirements.
  • Tuition:
    • Each lesson involves experiental learning methods where the learner works together with the facilitator on exercises and projects.
    • Comprehensive notes are supplied (full colour printed manual).
    • Supplementary notes, tutorials, videos are supplied where possible.
    • Working files and exercise files are supplied on disk.
    • Learners can contact the facilitator at any time via email for assistance during the course and after the course (within reason).
Facilitator Profile: Mike McFadyean
  • Honours in Psychology (University of Natal - 1985).
  • 3 years in Personnel Training with Lonrho Zimbabwe (1986 to 1988).
  • 1 year as a Visualiser and Airbrush Artist at Michael Hogg, Young and Rubicam (Harare) - 1989.
  • 8 years in Human Resource Training at Grindrod (Durban, 1990 to 1997).
  • 6 years successfully running own graphic design business in Durban (SHEER design cc) - 1998 to 2005.
  • Lectured part-time graphic design and digital design at Damelin (and Allenby) at the Westridge - Durban Campus: 2001 to 2005).
  • Lectured part-time digital design at Boston Media House in Durban: 2001 to 2003.
  • Lectured part-time digital design at the Centre for Fine Art, Animation and Design in Durban: 2002 to 2005.
  • Has always been involved in traditional art, drawing, painting and design and exhibited in the Zimbabwe National Gallery and the KZNSA members exhibition.
  • Has been heavily involved in digital graphic design, animation, video and imaging for the past 11 years.
  • Served for two years as technical director for the Interface Animation Festival.
  • Currently running own digital design software training company focusing on one-on-one and custom training, and doing ad hoc part-time digital design training at Vega - The Brand Communications School.
  • Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro (2009), and Apple Motion Graphics (2009).
  • Mike has a successful track record in facilitating in the graphic design, digital design, animation and related fields and has an impressive list of ex-students who are now successfully employed in the media field.
